Meaning and use of different mathematical tools and techniques used in the other lectures of the chemistry student programme
Content of UE

Analysis: functions of one and several variables. Integrals of one variable and different types of multiple integrals. Introduction to matrix calculus (elementary algebra, determinant, inverse, transpose, ...) and applications of matrix calculus: linear applications, reference system changes, linear algebraic equation systems, eigenvalue equations, diagonalization. Sequences and series; definition, convergence criteria, power series. Representation of a function by a series (Taylor series).
