Learning Outcomes of UE

Assess and intervene adequately with people with special needs in taking into account the characteristics of the person and the current philosophy of supporting these people.

Content of UE

After defining the main deficiencies and mental illness, we will trace the history of the care of persons with disabilities in Belgium. We then describe the current philosophy of supporting these people and define the key concepts of autonomy, self-determination and social role valorization. We will also introduce assessment tools and educational interventions.
