Programme component

Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand, describe and analyse the French language
    • Demonstrate a perfect command of the French language, orally and in writing, in both production and understanding
    • Describe and analyse language systems with regard to phonetics, phonemes, morphology, vocabulary, syntax and register
    • Reflect metacognitively on the French language and its usage

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this course, students will be able to spell words from French language accurately (including those related to their specialization), they will know and will be able to apply the grammatical rules in spelling words and writing sentences. They will be also able to put in writing the content of an oral communication and to uphold a personal opinion about a specific topic.They will also be able to produce a report of quantitative and qualitative data collected via a questionnaire or observation grid

Content of UE

Orthography and written forms (graphic vs phonic substance). Grammatical rules and orthography (gender/number agreement; conjugation; punctuation, sequence of tenses;…). Note taking. Discursive writing and argument texts.
