Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this course the students will have acquired a reading key to follow the domain of transcription regulation. They will be able to understand high level articles published in international scientific journals

Content of UE

  Based on the simple "recruitment" concept developed by M. Ptashne, the course addresses: - the lactose operon and phage lambda in E. coli - the Galactose operon in yeast -chromatin structure and genetic imprinting -transcription induction by various signals (hormones, growth factors) in mammalian cells
