Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Mobilise a structured set of scientific knowledge and skills and specialised techniques in order to carry out missions of chemical engineering and materials science, using their expertise and adaptability.
    • Master and appropriately apply knowledge, models, methods and techniques specific to the field of chemistry and materials science.

Learning Outcomes of UE

To master the basics relative to the inorganic non-metallic solids (glasses, cements, ceramics and refractories).

Content of UE

Materials (sources of alumina and silica, sources of K2O, Na2O and CaO, other raw materials); glasses and glass ceramics (glass transition, glass formation, properties, applications, shaping); cements (clinker, hydrolysation); ceramics (definitions, classification, shaping, drying, debonding and sintering); refractories (definition and properties, classifications).

Prior Experience

Basic in materials sciences.
