Learning Outcomes of UE

Through many jobs, an architect must understand human issues because these can impact their project. They must consult the all the relevant stakeholders. An architect must be able to: + Identify the stakeholders. + Order space issues and translate them into meaningful questions understandable to the general public and policy makers. + Meet and interview the actors in the field, in a professional way. Have an objective listening quality. + Interpret the results by comparing the sources while learning to read between the lines. + Make development proposals with human, cultural and contextual issues coherent to all. These proposals must be able to be questioned by stakeholders. + Establish relationships between the evolution of theories of architecture (including the importance of the modern movement) and the analysis of urban sociology and functional programming.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q1

  • Presentation and/or works
  • Written examination

Q1 UE Assessment Comments

Assess the implementation of theory through practical exercises and work. Continual assessment is used for this course based on the activities (survey of stakeholders and understanding of the building in its context) and on the work completed (detailed analysis report and summary of proposals for personal criticism). It is supported by the Moodle platform. Marked cooperation teamwork is generally subject to a bonus score. Being able to work as part of a team, as stimulated by the Bauhaus movement, is an aim of the course: "Teamwork with reciprocal criticism, allows a balanced and serious project to develop, avoiding sensationalism at all costs." (GROPIUS)
The final work must be downloaded on Moodle before 11:55 p.m., in early December (exact date will be specified during the course).
A paper version must be left at the Secretariat on the first business day following that date.
Take care of this, because a delay may cause a final score of 0/20.

Q3 UE Assessment Comments

Assess the implementation of theory through practical exercises and work. Continual assessment is used for this course based on the activities (survey of stakeholders and understanding of the building in its context (Term 1)) and on the work completed (detailed analysis report and summary of proposals for personal criticism (Term 1 + 3)).
The final work must be downloaded on Moodle before 11:55 p.m., the day before the first day of the second session (Q3).
A paper version is to drop to the secretariat on the first day of the second session (the working day following August 15).
Take care of this, because a delay may cause a final score of 0/20. Attention in case of failure, the new work is well to link to the project of the new year in progress.
