Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Master expertise.
    • Have developed the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous cycle to a level that extends beyond the Bachelor's course in Physics, and which provides the basis for the development and implementation of original ideas in a professional context.
  • Master expertise.
    • Have developed the knowledge and skills acquired in the previous cycle to a level that extends beyond the Bachelor's course in Physics, and which provides the basis for the development and implementation of original ideas in a professional context.
    • Have acquired knowledge and a thorough understanding of specialist areas of physics in connection with mathematics and/or advanced laboratory practices required for these sectors.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understanding the emergence of forms (morphogenesis) in nature using simple physical or physico-chemical processes.

Content of UE

Introduction to complex phenomena, the spontaneous appearance of forms. Instability fluid at rest (Rayleigh-Taylor, Rayleigh-Bénard) fluids in motion instability (Saffmann-Taylor, Kelvin-Helmholtz) instabilities specific to thin films Reaction-diffusion (Turing structures, rhythms of life ... ) fractal growth and dendrites Elasticity and geometry (fracture, leaf growth, ...)

Prior Experience

Thermodynamics, hydrodynamics, statistical physics, phase transition, ...
