      Content of Learning Activity

      Transients phenomena in pipes and water hammer; Study and design of axial turbomachines: Profile cascade, velocity triangles, characteristic curves, optimum performance, load criteria, blade twisting, technique for preliminary draft design, losses, rotating stall, compressibility effects; Elements of flight aerodynamics (forces, aerodynamic coefficients, polar, gliding, finite wing, propulsion, level flight, straight climb, turn, limit of manoeuvrability, takeoff, landing); Study of propellers, Rankine-Froude, blade element method.
