Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Master specialist knowledge in the field of economic, political and social sciences in order to mobilise it on issues related to political, economic and social environments.
    • Master and appropriately mobilise highly specialised knowledge and methodological approaches within of economic, political and social sciences.
  • Analyse concrete political, social and economic issues in a multidisciplinary way, identifying future societal changes.
    • Mobilise highly specialised knowledge methods and tools in different fields of economic, political and social sciences.
    • Analyse a situation by critically selecting adapted methodological theories and approaches.
  • Develop innovative solutions/actions/policies/methodologies adapted to an institutional and social context of actors concerned in a process of change.
    • Develop and implement innovative economic and social policies and measure their potential impacts.
    • Innovate in the development of methodologies and tools for analysis and decision-making in economic, political and social sciences.
  • Implement a scientific approach in order to carry out detailed research on issues within the economic, social or political field.
    • Master the different steps and methods to carry out scientific reasoning on complex or innovative issues in economic and social politics.
    • Construct a reference framework, formulate questions or hypotheses from the analysis of scientific literature.
    • Collect data, analyse it qualitatively and quantitatively and adequately interpret the results, taking into account the reference framework within which the research was developed.
  • Be critical and have a general overview of the analysis of problems and implementation of actions in the economic, social and political fields.
    • Critically analyse the extent and limitations of actions implemented in the economic, social and political field.
  • Communicate, orally and in writing, in a structured and relevant way.
    • Present and structure data in a clear, precise, neutral, and non-oriented way.

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of the course, students will be able to use econometric techniques in order to analyse relations (models) explaining how variables related to economic or business issues behave. This way, they will test the existence of significant explanatory variables, estimate their impact and forecast variables under interest. The course will also enable them to interpret results and to use them for policy implications in terms of private or public management and of economic policy.

Content of UE

- Regression analysis : estimation, quality of fit, model selection criteria, testing hypotheses - Problems of multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity and serial correlation : consequences, testing, treating - Specification tests, approaches of modeling - Estimation with qualitative (binary) independent vairiables, seasonal effects and structural changes - Stata econometrical software
