    • Mobilise, articulate and promote the knowledge and skills acquired.
    • Demonstrate independence and their ability to work alone or in teams.
  • Communicate clearly in the scientific domain.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
  • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Pursue their education and gain additional knowledge and new skills.
    • Adapt and evolve in a new context.
  • Apply high quality scientific methodology.
    • Demonstrate thoroughness, independence, creativity, intellectual honesty, and ethical values.

Learning Outcomes of UE

To understand the concept of drug. To understand the methods used to discover and develop them; To understand the problems linked to drug development (in chemistry, physics and biology); To tackle the chemist's roles in research and drug production

Content of UE

The themes of this course are (i) sources of new drugs, (ii) drug design techniques (chemistry, informatics, mathematics, physics) including a demonstration of computer-aided docking experiment, (iii) structure-activity relationships, (iv) roles of chemistry in pharmacological modulation, (v) the chemistry of drug production and (vi) consequences of drug development
