Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
•Demonstrate expertise and versatility in the sciences and technology •Formulate and analyse complex problems •Adopt an applied scientific approach •Innovate •Implement solutions •Plan and carry out projects in engineering •Master scientific and technical communication •Be a critical, reflexive and independent professional •Be a responsible person, in step with the stakes of society. And, more specifically, understand protection principles in industrial power systems: LV and MV switchgear, protection systems and selectivity principles, cable, motor and transformer protection devices, system earthings, basics on distance protection in HV power systems.
Content of UE
LV and MV switchgear ; protection systems (relays, circuit breakers and fuses); protection selectivity principles ; earthing systems ; protection in HV systems.
Prior Experience
Load flow and fault calculations, electrical machines.
Type of Assessment for UE in Q1
Q1 UE Assessment Comments
Written exam with various questions about theory and applications. The objective is to check the skills of the students. An evaluation about exercises and a small project are also performed. Project (14h): 30%, Exam (3h): 70%.
