Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Communicate and exchange information in a structured way - orally, graphically and in writing, in French and in one or more other languages - scientifically, culturally, technically and interpersonally, by adapting to the intended purpose and the relevant public.
    • Argue to and persuade clients, colleagues, teachers and boards, both orally and in writing.
  • Mobilise a structured set of scientific knowledge and skills and specialised techniques in order to carry out mechanical engineering missions, with a focus on Design and Production, using their expertise and adaptability.
    • Master and appropriately mobilise knowledge, models, methods and techniques related to the mechanics of solids and fluids, energy exchanges, dynamic and vibratory behaviour of systems, manufacturing and mechanical production, operating machines, and production management (organisation, maintenance, quality).
    • Study a machine, a mechanical system or a mechanical production unit by critically selecting theories, models and methodological approaches, and taking into account multidisciplinary aspects.

Learning Outcomes of UE

AA "<strong>Fluid Power Actuators": </strong>Explain the operating principles of hydraulic power transmission and control systems, as well as their main components; Analyse and interpret the operating principles of basic hydraulic circuits from their schematics; Analyse the operating principles of electrohydraulic control systems; Analyse the operating principles of basic pneumatic circuits;

AA "<strong>Fluid Actuators Technology": </strong>Analyze complex hydraulic systems and interaction between components. Understand design rules and criterias

Content of UE

AA "<strong>Fluid Power Actuators": </strong>Introduction to hydraulic systems ; Hydraulic pumps, motors and cylinders; Hydraulic power distribution (hydraulic valves, hydraulic lines); Hydrostatic transmissions; Hydraulic circuits design; Hydraulic control systems (accumulators, hydraulic control valves, servovalves); Introduction to pneumatic systems.

AA "<strong>Fluid Actuators Technology": </strong>Apply the I-FLMA-0039 learnings into hydraulic systems conception. Systems regulation, design rules, presentation of industrial application and systems design.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q2

  • Oral Examination
  • Written examination

Q2 UE Assessment Comments

The UE (Educational Unit) comprises two Apprenticeship Activities (AA) : -  The « Fluid Power Actuators » AA - The « Fluid Actuators Technology » AA

The overall rating of the EU is the result of an integrated examination test on the two AA. This integrated examination test consists of 2 parts: - An oral part of theory, maximum 1h, 50% - a written part of exercises, maximum 1:30, 50% This integrated examination est held on a half-day during the session.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q3

  • Oral examination
  • Written examination

Q3 UE Assessment Comments

The UE (Educational Unit) comprises two Apprenticeship Activities (AA) : -  The « Fluid Power Actuators » AA - The « Fluid Actuators Technology » AA

The overall rating of the EU is the result of an integrated examination test on the two AA.
Procedure of this integrated examination test is identical than the one used for the Term 2 Assessment. This integrated examination test takes place on a half-day during the exams session.
