Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Select an appropriate manufacturing process for metal parts as well as for plastics or composites according to specifications.
Choose a suitable material for the manufacture of a part.
Analyze the advantages and disadvantages associated with additive manufacturing.
Take into account manufacturing constraints (cost, quality, schedule) when designing a product (“Design for X”).
Understand the role of materials in manufacturing processes and the effect of processes on the mechanical properties of manufactured parts.
Content of UE
Forming processes of plastics. Forming processes of composite materials. Powder metallurgy.
Nontraditional machining processes (Electro discharge machining, Electrochemical machining, Chemical milling, Ultrasonic machining).
Design for X.
Additive manufacturing (3D printing).
Adhesive bonding.
Surface treatment and coating.
Prior Experience
Manufacturing processes and metal alloys
