Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand texts at level B1+, and listenings at level B1+ in contexts relevant to the career of an engineer (for example environment and the corporate world...).
Content of UE
- Revision of the basic structures of the English language. - Strenghtening and development of reading and listening comprehension skills. - Portfolio of guided individual activities
Prior Experience
Students will have to take a placement test in order to be placed in the adapted level group. The students whose level is inferior to A2 will have to attend remedial classes organized by the Centre of Modern Languages.

Participation: 10% Written examination: 90%

Q2 UE Assessment Comments
- Assessment of the portfolio of individual activities + written examination composed of a listening and a reading comprehensions at level B1+ as well as questions on grammar and vocabulary. Portfolio: 30% Written examination: 70% Accounts for 65 % of the final grade.

Q3 UE Assessment Comments
Written examination composed of a listening and a reading comprehensions at level B1+ as well as questions on grammar and vocabulary. + assessment of the portfolio if the student didn't score 10/20 in Q2.
