Content of Learning Activity
The course presents the basics theoretical aspects of database conception:
- Entity-relation diagram and relational model.
- "Pure" query language: relational algebra, tuple relational calculus and domain relational calculus.
- The SQL query language.
- The normal form theory (1-4 normal form, Byce-Codd normal form).
Exercises allow the students to become familiar with the concepts presented during the course.
