      Content of Learning Activity

      - bending of thin plates : strain kinematic - static; circular and rectangular plates; limit analysis for isotropic plates; yield surfaces; normality law, fundamental theorems
      - axisymetrical shells under axisymetrical loading, membrane state; strains and displacements, bending of shells under border loading
      - instability problems
      - plane problems, thermomechanics, ASME VIII
      - finite elements for elastic continuum
      - direct formulation of a finite element
      - plane stress and plane strain
      - modelling of the axisymetric solids
      - 3D stress state
      - Galerkin method and variational principle
      - shape functions, continuity requirement of an element (C0 and C1)
      - isoparametric finite elements, numerical integration
