Content of Learning Activity
Physics of granular media: density, compactness, porosity, void ratio, water content, permeability, absorption. Granulates and ornamental stones: classification, characteristics, employment, sand, gravel, crushed stone natural stone. Physical and mechanical characterization: grading curve, sedimentometry... Hydraulic and aerial binders. Production of clinker and lime. Characterization, standardization, uses and compositions. Cement types: characterization, classification, properties. Hydration reactions of the cement. Cement mortars, lime and lime mortar. Uses, charactisation and compositions. Concretes: characterization and standardization of hardened concretes, compositions, characterization and standardization of fresh concrete.
