Objectives of general skills
- Acquire the basic knowledge to understand the legal mechanisms in order to understand the concepts, techniques and terminology to express a rigorous legal thought
- Have foundation of legal knowledge in order to work with more refined knowledge and legally consider increasingly complex situations

UE Content
Historical introduction to Roman law (legal development and historical background); exposition of concepts and working methods of Roman law in which contemporary Civil law is deeply rooted: notions of legal status and family law; property and real rights; sources of obligations; description of main contracts; elements of proceedings.
Prior experience
Oral and written fluency of the French language; basic knowledge of Latin can help the student to understand the subject.
