      Contents

      The learning activity will treat the following theories: companies’ decisions in a competitive market, maximization of monopoly profits, game theory (interactions between oligopolies), models based on asymmetric information, consumer surplus and producer surplus in different market structures (partial equilibrium models), general equilibrium, market failures and regulations that will decrease market failures.

      The written examination will have 3 parts : <br />• Multiple choice questions (20% of the marks)<br />• Questions on applications of the theory (cfr. ‘questions’ in the book, 40% of the marks)<br />• Exercises (cfr. ‘Exercises’ in the book, 40% of the marks)<br />Two written tests during the course (announced in advance will allow to obtain a bonus for the final mark.
