Learning Outcomes of UE

This Teaching Unit focuses on short to long term open and closed economy macroeconomics (determination of GDP, unemployment and inflation). It aims at enabling the students to :
- Understand and use national accounts;
- Master the behavioural underpinnings of macroeconomic equilibria (consumption, investment, money demand and supply, ...);
- Understand fix-price equilibria (IS/TR; Mundell-Fleming under fixed exchange rates) and flex-price equilibria (Phillips curve, aggregated demand and supply);
- Apply the above concepts to current economic policy issues (especially budgetary and monetary policy).
