Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
At the end of the first module of the master in translation, students should be able to: -understand specialized documents using appropriate research strategies;-translate them into correct French and where necessary, taking into account the typology and terminology of the concerned domain.They will be able to: - provide a true and accurate translation of text using the foreign language correctly and appropriately;- apply appropriate strategies of revision, avoidance and communication. After this tutorial, the students will be able to translate into proper French various litteratur texts (from comics to historical novel). They will translate respecting the ad hoc typology of each text. They will also have acquired some translation techniques to be able to make translation comparisons or to comment the translation process they used and likend to litteratur texts.
Content of UE
Translation of litteratur texts of all kinds : fantasy novel, historical story, thriller, child litteratur, comics as well as literary review/critics, .... Identification of the appropriate translation methods and process. Translation comparisons
