Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Linguistic skills - Apply knowledge of languages specific to translation or interpretation
    • Transmit a message expressed in another language, orally or in writing, all the while respecting the intention, the target audience, the linguistic register and the objectives of the original language and message.
  • Thematic expertise - Develop and apply subject knowledge relating to the fields in which the activity of translation or interpretation is practised.
    • Master the strategies, tools and techniques needed for carrying out documentary or terminological research.
    • Recognise when and know how to consult an expert.
    • Maintain personal archives in a logical, efficient and accessible manner.
  • Cognitive skills - Understand theoretical knowledge specific to translation and interpretation, apply it to professional practice and develop it independently.
    • Develop knowledge and skills autonomously, particularly in terms of researching new theoretical approaches and tools in the field, with the aim of improving professional skills.
  • Ethical and professional skills - Master the professional context of an interpretation.
    • Show good self-control including a professional degree of tact.
    • Show their ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
    • Develop the ability to self-evaluate with a critical eye, in order to continually progress.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills - Use and develop communication skills.
    • Be willing and ready to adapt to new and varied communication situations and environments; be flexible.

Learning Outcomes of UE

At the end of this activity, students are expected to be able to:
- apply the theoretical and technical skills they are currently building up in a context similar to real life work;
- deal with diversified translation, copy writing or revising tasks, for outside "clients";
- use CAT-tools to work on real projects;
- realise and assess those tasks in a team.

Content of UE

Translation agency simulation based on all languages taught at the Faculty as working languages.
Social-constructivistic approach.
Involvement in all working steps implied in the translation and interpretation workflow.
