Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Have acquired highly specialised and integrated knowledge and broad skills in the various disciplines of computer science, which come after those within the Bachelor's in computer science.
  • Master communication techniques.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
    • Adapt their communication to a variety of audiences.
  • Develop and integrate a high degree of autonomy.
    • Aquire new knowledge independently.
    • Pursue further training and develop new skills independently.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understand principles of random number generators.
Use random numbers in simulations.

Content of UE

Generation of random numbers according to a uniform distribution.
Testing generated sequences.
Generation of random numbers according to a non uniform distribution.

Prior Experience

Mathematics (knowledge that can be acquired for example by  "Mathematics for computer science" (US-B1-SCINFO-003-M))
Programming and algorithms (see for example US-B1-SCINFO-007-M, US-B1-SCINFO-008-M)
Mathematical Analysis (see for example US-B1-SCINFO-004-M Calculus I, US-B2-SCINFO-002-M Calculus II)
Probability Calculus
Probability theory and Theory of Errors
