Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

Learning Outcomes of UE

By the end of the course, students will know several techniques for concealing meaning and will understand the aims of this type of writing. The will be able to recognise signs of ambiguity and double-talk. They will be able to form hypotheses about the use of these techniques of concealing meaning. They will also be able to analyse these practices without projecting their own ideas onto the meaning of the text.

Content of UE

After a presentation of the principle theories on the art of 'writing between the lines,' the reasons for employing these strategies and their aims, certain texts using this writing style will be analysed with the students. The students will then have to carry out this analysis themselves on short texts.
