Description of the modifications to the Q3 2019-2020 online assessment procedures (Covid-19) |
The online exam will take place on the Moodle platform according to the following modalities: No negative points. Sequential course of the exam (no return possible to the previous questions). The topic covers all the chapters of the course: granular media, rocks, stones and aggregates, cement, lime, plaster, concrete, wood, mortars and soils. The additional illustrations made during the e-labs are not part of the examination topics! |
Content of Learning Activity
Understanding of building materials from a technical and technological point of view. Assessment of the use of building materials in a given context. Understanding the soils characterization tools. Interpreting technical documents and standards available. Physics of granular media: density, compactness, porosity, void ratio, water content, permeability, absorption. Granulates and ornamental stones: classification, characteristics, employment, sand, gravel, crushed stone natural stone. Physical and mechanical characterization: grading curve, sedimentometry... Soils: physical and mechanical characterization. Hydraulic and aerial binders. Production of clinker and lime. Characterization, standardization, uses and compositions. Cement types: characterization, classification, properties. Hydration reactions of the cement. Cement mortars, lime and lime mortar. Uses, charactisation and compositions. Concretes: characterization and standardization of hardened concretes, compositions, characterization and standardization of fresh concrete.
