Description of the modifications to the Q3 2019-2020 online assessment procedures (Covid-19) |
Assignment with submission of a personal work on Moodle (Integrated test with the AA I-GCMS-006 Building Materials and Sustainable Design). Students receive a problem (containing several questions) two days before the scheduled exam, which they will have to solve using the EduPack software (software used during the practical sessions) and using the course notes. A Teams meeting will be scheduled for the same day at the end of the day so that students can ask questions on the subject of the work. On the day of the exam, they submit a written report on Moodle (at 6 p.m. at the latest) that addresses the problem. The evaluation relates to the content of the written report. |
Content of Learning Activity
Wood and timber based materials (cross laminated timber, glulam and engineered wood products). Properties, classification, manufacturing and uses; Durability od concrete and specific applications. Terracotta (bricks, tiles, expanded clay, ceramics) manufacturing, and insulating properties and uses.Glass: production, classification, uses); Comparative overview of materials as solution of a building problem: introduction to of life cycle analysis and bio-based materials. Repositories for LCA analysis (VALIDEO, BREAM, Bauw Book, INIES ...).
