Learning Outcomes of UE
Once their training is complete, candidates will have learned to apply their cultural awareness to different forms of interpretation and will have developed sound communicational, intercultural and interpersonal abilities.
Content of UE
The TU comprises two LAs and focuses on the following: defining the notion of culture based on the various codes, norms, values, taboos, beliefs and reference frameworks; defining the concept of intercultural clash: standpoint and understanding of differences, legitimization of behavior, symbolic meanings; defining diversity and otherness; understanding M. Cohen-Emerique’s model of intercultural approach; critical incident analysis; selecting appropriate communication strategies: negotiating differences and intercultural mediation.
