Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Have acquired highly specialised and integrated knowledge and broad skills in the various disciplines of computer science, which come after those within the Bachelor's in computer science.
  • Manage large-scale software development projects.
    • Demonstrate independence and their ability to work alone or in teams.
  • Manage research, development and innovation.
    • Methodically research valid scientific information, lead a critical analysis, propose and argue potentially innovative solutions to targeted problems.
  • Master communication techniques.
    • Communicate, both orally and in writing, their findings, original proposals, knowledge and underlying principles, in a clear, structured and justified manner.
    • Adapt their communication to a variety of audiences.
    • Where possible, communicate in a foreign language.

Learning Outcomes of UE

Understanding advanced topics in operating systems (virtualization, distributed systems).
Being able to present one of the topics covered in english and produce a written report on this topic.

Content of UE

Virtualization
Distributed systems Workshop on Academic Writing in English.

Prior Experience

A basic knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems which can be acquired, for example, in the following courses :
US-B1-SCINFO-001-M - Computer Architecture
S-INFO-010    Operating systems
A good knowledge of English, possibly acquired by taking the following course before : US-M1-SCINFO-038-M (English for Scientific Communication).  A workshop is planned to help the students for the writing of their report. In order to attend, the students should first take the Elao test during Q1 (a code to register will be available on request through the CLIL team).
