Understand principles of random number generators.
Use random numbers in simulations.

Content of UE

Generation of random numbers according to a uniform distribution.
Testing generated sequences.
Generation of random numbers according to a non uniform distribution.

Oral examination with lecture notes available : 67%
Project : 33%  
(The examination can take place in English for foreign students, if requested)
According to the Studies Rules and Regulations (Art. 37: "Tout étudiant est tenu de suivre régulièrement les activités d'apprentissage du programme auquel il s'est inscrit, sauf s'il en est dispensé"), regular class attendance (at least 60%) is a condition for being admitted to the exam.
