Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand, describe, analyse and prioritise biological phenomena
    • Understand basic scientific knowledge and be able to use it
    • Understand the expression of biological realities in absolute or relative terms, the orders of magnitude, proportions and probability
    • Perceive spatial distribution, and understand two- and three-dimensional representations and interconvert them
  • Control the molecular, morphological and functional approaches of normal and pathological conditions
    • Explain how molecular, morphological and functional modifications constitute pathological states and vice versa
  • Develop reasoning skills
    • Work with efficiency / accuracy / precision
    • Present a hypothesis and hypothetical-deductive reasoning
  • Demonstrate developed interpersonal skills
    • Use a rich vocabulary linking concepts and words accurately

Learning Outcomes of UE

The major aims of this course are to develop an understanding of the human body at cell and tissue levels. The morphological study of tissues is of importance since it allows the integration with other course such as physiology, immunology, biochemistry or cell biology. Finally, this course is an indispensable prerequisite for further study of Histology of organs (course of Special Histology) and Histopathology.

Content of UE

General histology involves the study of cells and tissue structures in the human body using light and electron microscopy. General histology : Structure of the cell, epithelial cells, contractile cells, connective tissue, nervous tissue, blood cells and bone marrow.
