Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in science and engineering to solve problems involving these disciplines
    • Identify, describe and explain basic scientific and mathematical principles
    • Identify, describe and explain the basic principles of engineering particularly in their specialising field
    • Understand laboratory techniques: testing, measuring, monitoring protocol, and security

Learning Outcomes of UE

understand the nowadays world of telecommunications;
master the fundamentals and analyse analogue telecommunications systems such as broadcast AM or FM and cable TV networks;
acquire long term 'telecommunication minded' skills to provide future engineers with a clear view of any telecommunication system (principles and parameters), mainly in the fields of target performance, metrology and orders of magnitude;
understand the concepts of random variables.

Content of UE

signals and linear systems analysis; electromagnetic spectrum allocation; amplitude modulation ; phase and frequency modulations ; random signals ; fundamentals of noises and study of their impact on telecommunication links ; evaluation of analogue transmissions performance.
