Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes of UE
Electromagnetism: understand Maxwell equations and be able to apply them to electrostatics, magnetostatics and time-varying circuits;
apply the different theorems and Maxwell equations to the resolution of everyday problems in electricity encountered during the engineer's career.
Signals, systems and Process Control: Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in signal processing. Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in system dynamics. Describe and analyze the time behavior of a process described by its transfert function. Understand the fundamentals in process control.
Content of UE
Electromagnetism: summary of Maxwell equations; field calculation in conductors and in insulating media; electric currents; field calculation of a system of currents and magnets; force calculation; general laws of steady current circuits; quasi-static and sinusoidal current circuits.
Signals, systems and Process Control: Signal and signal convolution; Laplace/Fourier transform : physical approach; Time and frequency analysis of LTI (linear time invariant) SISO (single input - single output) system ; Open and closed-loop behavior analysis : stability, static and dynamic performance; basic rules for controller design.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q2
Q2 UE Assessment Comments
The UE evaluation is based on the evaluations of the teaching activities "Electromagnetism" (50%) and "Signals, systems and Process Control" (50%).
Evaluation for "Electromagnetism" teaching activity: written graded exercises, 20 % of the marks, 4 hours - written examination, 80 % of the marks, 4 hours (75% for the lecture and 20 % for laboratory).
Evaluation for "Signals, systems and Process Control" teaching activity: written examination, 100% of the marks, including essentially exercises.
Type of Assessment for UE in Q3
Q3 UE Assessment Comments
The UE evaluation is based on the evaluations of the teaching activities "Electromagnetism" (50%) and "Signals, systems and Process Control" (50%).
Evaluation for "Electromagnetism" : written examination, 100 % of the marks, 4 hours (80% for the lecture and 20 % for the laboratory (the student can choose to transfer the 1st session marks or to do a new laboratory exam)).
Evaluation for "Signals, systems and Process Control" teaching activity: written examination, 100% of the marks, including essentially exercises.
