Objectives of Programme's Learning Outcomes

  • Implement an engineering approach dealing with a set problem taking into account technical, economic and environmental constraints
    • Design, evaluate and optimise solutions addressing the problem
    • Implement a chosen solution in the form of a drawing, a schema, a plan, a model, a prototype, software and/or digital model
    • Identify and acquire the information and skills needed to solve the problem
  • Understand the theoretical and methodological fundamentals in science and engineering to solve problems involving these disciplines
    • Identify, describe and explain basic scientific and mathematical principles
    • Identify, describe and explain the basic principles of engineering particularly in their specialising field

Learning Outcomes of UE

After this course, students will be able to: explain advanced concepts of object-oriented algorithms; implement algorithms with object-oriented programming language; describe advanced characteristics of computer science; be aware of IT security.

Content of UE

Study the main basic concepts necessary for quality software development; Design algorithms using the object-oriented methodology (classes, genericity, inheritance, STL library); C++ programming language; Get an overview on IT security issues.

Prior Experience

Algorithmic basic concepts; Programming language; I-INFO-001: Structures de données et algorithmes.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q1

  • Oral examination
  • Written examination
  • Practical test

Q1 UE Assessment Comments

Two-hour written exam on the theoretical concepts of the teaching. This counts for 30% of the mark. Four-hour oral exam with a maximum of 2h30 for the writing of a programme. The student has to explain and justify the correctness of their programme with various sets of data. The student is asked questions and has to comment on all, or a part, of the source code of their programme. This counts for 70% of the mark.

Type of Assessment for UE in Q3

  • Oral examination
  • Written examination
  • Practical Test

Q3 UE Assessment Comments
